About the Event
Ruralink has developed a reputation for delivering interactive, engaging and highly impactful training to advisors and facilitators across the land-based sector.
In this course, we are taking the same approach but online to enable maximum participation. Delegates will be professional rural facilitators, community leader and local volunteers united by their passion to generate sustainable local action for global impact. Delivered entirely online using MS Teams, the course is presented over two days by a two-person team: a course facilitator and your personal mentor. Additionally, a one hour follow up personal mentor session is included 2-4 weeks later to support delegates in their individual project design or delivery.
DAY ONE. On the first morning, you will be introduced to the framework over a four-hour fully facilitated interactive session. In small groups, we will discuss the values that drive and motivate us and how they shape our approach to projects. Then, we will start to work through the ILD steps, examining the reasons for each and what the outputs may be. You will be introduced to several useful resources and then supported to start applying the framework to a project or area with which you are familiar. That afternoon, you will have the opportunity to develop your project in your own time.
DAY TWO. On the following day, you will be introduced to your personal mentor who will work with the course facilitator to guide you through the remainder of the framework. Again, you will be supported to personalise the learning to a project or area with which you are familiar. If you do not have a defined project in mind, you may choose to partner with someone working in a linked area or to apply the learning to a case study we can provide.
MENTOR. We hope this course will be the start of something big, so you will be invited to schedule a one hour one-to-one personal mentor session 2-4 weeks after the course to answer any supplementary questions or to support you in implementing the framework locally.
WORKBOOK. An interactive workbook will be sent to delegates a few days before the course begins. Delegates can choose whether to work digitally or to print the resource in advance and complete activities by hand.
