About the Event

Interested in agroforestry, growing your own trees or looking to  diversify your farm business? Join us at Tree Source’s site at Hill Top  farm for a talk and tour around their newly established tree nursery and  agroforestry site.

Tree Source began business 25 years ago and  have since expanded their range of tree related services and  enterprises. In their latest venture they are setting up a tree nursery,  focusing on nature based techniques. The nursery specialises in growing  stock from veteran trees as well as food producing species and species  with medicinal properties. Hill Top farm is currently under organic  conversion and will be producing organically certified trees from 2025,  making it one of the very few organic tree nurseries in the UK.

The event will include;

  • A tour of the site
  • Seed sourcing, collecting and growing methods
  • Tree and woodland establishment techniques
  • Agroforestry systems and their benefits
  • Utilising pigs for ground preparation for tree planting
  • Organic conversion and organic methods
  • Overview of grants used by Tree Source and an overview of the grants currently available

Refreshments and lunch will be included.
